Scotland is a mystical-looking country; it is no accident that it is depicted by green, a color that characterizes the large presence of forests and woodlands. The place's connection to nature is clear, yet the Scottish moors are the pretext for legends and folklore.
Banshees have Gaelic origins-and in fact we find them in Ireland as well-but their presence has also been "spotted" in Highland, Scotland.
They are malevolent creatures bringers of death and messengers of the ultra-earthly world. According to legend, they were once grief-stricken fairies who wept in heartrending lament.
Since then, these figures assumed the role of "ferrymen" of those about to leave earthly life. That is, they were a kind of symptom of what would happen after their arrival: death.
The earliest records of the alleged existence of these spirits, date back to the 1300s
